Problems logging in to the member's area?

Whether you sign up through CCbill or Epoch, you will be sent an e-mail with your login and billing information. Check you bulk/spam folders for this e-mail and save it for future reference. Your username and password are case-sensitive so enter them exactly as shown in your e-mail. You must also enter an 'image' word on the login screen just below your username and password. Passwords are protected by Strongbox and if you make too many failed attempts when logging in, your password will be temporarily suspended. If that happens, just wait a few hours or contact us via e-mail and we will reset your password as quickly as possible.

Are you having difficulty viewing the videos in Firefox, Opera or Mozilla internet browsers?

This fix works with Windows XP and Firefox, Opera and Mozilla browsers.
To get Firefox or Mozilla or Opera to play Wwindows Media on embed statements, do this:

Search your hard drive for npds play.dll usually found under \Program Files\Windows Media player\npds play.dll (but not always, depends on your OS and config)

Then copy it to your Ffirefox plugins folder \Program Files\firefox\plugins (but not always located there, depending on where you installed it) Same thing for Mozilla \mozilla\plugins\ similar for Opera \opera\program\plugins\

Remember to close and restart the browser to make it load. Then it should work perfectly on most pages that don't only specify active-X.

Mac users: We recommend that you download a utility called Flip4Mac.

In the member's area: for the WMV files, simply click the link and the download should start. For the MP4 and MOV formats, you need to right click and then select the appropriate action from the drop-down menu; if you just left-click these, they will start to stream not download.

Slow or broken video downloads?

We do everything possible to maintain a fast web server so your viewing entertainment is not interrupted. We have several quality levels of most videos on our site. Our high-quality exclusive videos are encoded at a very high bit-rate and the file sizes are quite large. A high-speed internet connection is recommended for high-quality viewing.
If you are streaming the video in your browser or video player and the video stalls, just pause your player for a few minutes until the player has time to buffer the video file. You may also download an entire clip and save it to your hard drive. This will enable you to play a high-quality video with no interruption regardless of your internet connection speed.
For members with persistant problems with broken downloads due to connection interruptions from their Internet Service Provider, we suggest using a Donwload Manager. These clever programs can restore broken downloads and resume where you left off without starting over. A free trial of Internet Download Accelerator can be found here.
Due to traffic spikes on the site you may infrequently experience temporary slowdowns. If the problem persists, please feel free to contact us via our support e-mail and we will quickly rectify the problem. We have yet to leave a member unsatisfied once they have asked us for help.

The video's player control don't work, i.e. I can't fast forward a video.

In order to fast forward or rewind videos you must first wait for the entire video to download in the buffer. Then, and only then, can you use all the video player control buttons. Butch Dixon does not have a streaming server, so it's often easier just to download the video to your computer, watch it, and then, delete it or burn it to a disc. Once you've downloaded a video to your computer, you can use all of the player controls plus you can resize the videos to whatever size makes you happiest.

Unable to see some images inside the member's area?

Sometimes your Firewall or antivirus software may be preset with very restrictive settings. Since we use a utility called Strongbox to protect our content, this utility may clash with your Firewall/antivirus software. We recommend that you relax some of your Firewall/antivirus settings. We don't recommend that you completely disable your protection software but just reduce settings to a less paranoid level.

Is there any way to get smaller images so I don't have to scroll to see them on a smaller monitor?

One simple way to view the photos so they fit on small monitors is to download the ZIP file that accompanies each gallery. You unzip photos and then view them with 'Windows Picture Viewer' which will automatically resize them to fit your monitor.

How often and when do you update?

We update three times per week... twp new photosets (monday & wednesday) and 1 new video (friday). And usually every other week we release a hardcore feature video. So in a typical month you will get 8 new high-quality photosets, 2 solo videos featuring the hottest hairy men and two hardcore feature videos shot in our own unique, fun and horny style. In addition to the regular updates, we also occasionally release bonus sets. These bonus set usually consist of behind-the-scenes photos from our video shoots, screen capture galleries from our videos, or audition videos. Other sites try to pass off screencap galleries as their version of a photo update. We have more respect for you than that and only offer screencap galleries as bonuses ... never a regular scheduled update!

Am I able to download and keep the videos?

Absolutely! Most or our videos are available as streaming video and downloads. Our videos do not require you to have a DRM (Digital Rights Management) license to play them. They are your's forever to enjoy. However, it is illegal to share these videos or photos on the internet or burn them to disc and sell or share them with others. We ask that you respect our legal ownership of these images and videos. Enjoy them but please, do NOT share them!

What formats and sizes are your videos?

Most of our videos are available for download in a variety of formats and will play on most computers. By far the most popular format is Window Media (.wmv). Most .wmv's are 720x540 and are encoded at a 1,500 kbps bitrate which is DVD quality and will stream fine on most high-speed internet connections. We also make most of our videos available in Real Media format (.rm) at a slightly lower size and bitrate but the quality is fantastic. And for those of you on a slower internet connection, we also make most videos in a smaller 320x240 .wmv format. Lastly, our most recent videos are also encoded in Quicktime format (.mov). These videos will also play on your Apple iPhones and iPods so you can take your Butch Dixon videos with you!

How big are your images and can I keep copies of them?

Our images are of the highest quality suitable for internet display. All high-quality photos are 1024 pixels on the long side. And unlike most porn sites, our galleries consist of professionally shot photos in artistic settings. You won't see a lot of photos of guys sitting on boring beige beds or old sticky couches. We try harder! And when you do find photos that rev-up your engines, simply right-click your mouse and save the image to your computer. We now offer ZIP file downloads of complete photosets. However, it is illegal to share these videos or photos on the internet or burn them to disc and sell or share them with others. We ask that you respect our legal ownership of these images and videos. Enjoy them but, please do NOT share them!
